FAQs

What is a virtual race?  A virtual race is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, at the gym or on the track (or even at another race). You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. And your medal will be shipped directly to you. Complete a virtual 5K, 10K, half marathon and more!

You will be a virtual runner, competing with virtual runners all over the World, to be the fastest in each race and try to enter our all time Hall Of Fame. Of course, you can do it just for fun too.

Step 1: Sign up for any Race The Distance Event

Step 2: Race, whenever and wherever you want to. You can even walk if you like, as long as you complete the distance, you would have earn't your medal.  We send out your medal and certificate, as well as a discount code for your next run and you would have earnt yourself a pat on the back!

Step 3: Submit your result. Simply tell us your time and run details via the online form at the top of the webpage titled "submit your time". If you have a result that qualifies for the Hall of Fame, we would require a screen shot from an app, or some form of proof.

Step 4: Check back to see if you have made it onto our Hall Of Fame

No.  All certificates are generic and do not include a name

5) Can Children take part?

Yes absolutely.

5) Why does only £2.50 go to charity?

We would always advise someone who feels like this to just donate the money and not take part in this event. Its a simple answer though, after the costs £2.50 is all that is left. Factor in Artwork, plate cost, manufacturing, delivery from Asia, import, duty and VAT, envelopes, certificate design and printing, postage (£1.40), website fees, paypal /credit card fees, marketing fees so this gets out there via sponsored posts and so on. We are meticulous on costing every element of all of the above. We have over 30 quotes for the medal alone.

6) How long is delivery?

All medals and certificates are dispatched within 1-2 days unless specified  (with the exception of annual distance medals).

6b) How much is shipping?

Free to UK, £4.95 to Europe and £9.95 to the rest of the World.

7) What if I've not got delivery?

If 2 weeks has passed, it's likely the items have got lost in the postal service.  Please contact us to arrange a replacement. Please note we can not replace items after 4 weeks because we would have made the associated charity donations and covered our costs.

8) Where can I submit my Annual Challenge miles?

On the menu at the top of the website, click "Submit Result".  You will see the 500 and 1000 mile options

9) How do I see the Annual Miles Leader board?

On the menu at the top of the website, click "Hall Of Fame".  You will see the 500 and 1000 mile options

10) Why is there no "time" option on the Annual Miles Leader board?

This challenge is a personal one to complete a distance within a full year.  Time is not relevant for these events.
